Baluarte Zoo is a free-admission zoological park located in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, established by local businessman and politician Chavit Singson. The park houses an impressive and diverse collection of native and exotic animals, including Bengal tigers, white tigers, white lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, camels, antelopes, ostriches, peacocks, snakes, civets, and cloud rats, among many others. Certain animals such as deer, ostriches, and peacocks roam freely in open sections of the park, and visitors are welcome to hand-feed monkeys, flamingos, parrots, hornbills, and more. Live animal shows are held four times daily, and a butterfly garden adds a serene attraction to the experience. Situated near the historic UNESCO-listed city of Vigan, Baluarte Zoo offers a unique combination of wildlife entertainment and cultural tourism, making it one of the most visited attractions in the Ilocos region.
