Chiang Mai Zoo and Aquarium is a major zoological park set across 200 acres on Huay Kaew Road in Chiang Mai, northern Thailand, established in 1977 and operated by the Zoological Park Organization of Thailand. The zoo is home to approximately 2,000 animals representing nearly 400 species, including Indochinese tigers, Indian rhinoceroses, hippopotamuses, Bornean orangutans, Cape fur seals, Humboldt penguins, koalas, giant anteaters, greater flamingos, and a wide variety of birds and reptiles. A special air-conditioned giant panda exhibit housed the park's famous pandas loaned from China. The on-site aquarium features a world-record 133-meter underwater tunnel, offering stunning views of aquatic life. Nestled at the foot of Doi Suthep, the zoo is a beloved destination for families and wildlife lovers visiting Chiang Mai.
