Elephant Royal Kraal Village, also known as Elephantstay, is an elephant sanctuary and experiential tourism destination located in Ayutthaya, Thailand. The Royal Elephant Kraal houses approximately 80 elephants, including retired working elephants and those unsuitable for labour, and has recorded more than 90 successful elephant births since 2000 through an active conservation breeding programme. Guests participate in hands-on elephant care including feeding, bathing, and learning traditional training methods from experienced mahouts. Founded by Laithongrien Meepan in 1996 and operating as a registered nonprofit through the Phra Kochabaan Foundation, the facility blends Thailand's rich cultural heritage with modern animal welfare practices, providing an immersive experience that directly benefits elephant conservation.
