Elephant World is a renowned elephant sanctuary and conservation centre situated in Tha Tum District, Surin Province, northeastern Thailand, near the culturally significant Baan Ta Klang village. Established in 2001, it is one of the largest elephant conservation centres in the world, covering 500 rai of land. The project was founded to provide a permanent home for vagabond working elephants and is deeply connected to the local Kuy communities, whose traditions have centred on elephant husbandry for generations. Visitors can feed, bathe, and observe elephants in a natural setting, explore exhibits including the Building of Majestic Elephants and an Elephant Training School, watch a 3D film about elephants, and browse on-site shops and restaurants for a complete cultural and wildlife experience.
