Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Zoo, located in the Şahinbey district of Gaziantep, southeastern Turkey, is one of the largest zoos in Turkey and among the notable zoological facilities in Europe. Home to around 8,000 animals from approximately 380 species, the zoo encompasses a safari park with African wildlife, a 21-section aquarium featuring thousands of fish across 74 species, a primate island housing chimpanzees and other monkeys, and extensive enclosures for predators including lions, tigers, leopards, and bears. Additional highlights include dedicated houses for camels, llamas, horses, and kangaroos, a zoology and nature museum, and bird aviaries with 90 species, all set across a vast green landscape that attracts millions of visitors annually.
