Tri Nguyen Aquarium, also known as Hon Mieu Aquarium, is a unique marine attraction located on Hon Mieu Island in Nha Trang Bay, approximately 8 km from Nha Trang city centre in southern Vietnam. Originally established in 1971 by a local fisherman, the aquarium is housed within a striking structure designed to resemble an ancient fossil ship, measuring 60 metres in length and featuring eight floors including display areas, souvenir shops, and a restaurant. The aquarium is home to more than 200 species of marine creatures, including tuna, seahorses, clownfish, stingrays, sharks, sea turtles, jellyfish, sea lions, Napoleon fish, Picasso fish, and numerous species listed on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. Visitors reach the island by boat from the mainland, and the experience is often combined with snorkelling in the surrounding waters. Tri Nguyen Aquarium offers a fascinating window into the rich marine biodiversity of the South China Sea.
