South March Highlands Conservation Forest is a 457-hectare protected natural area situated in the Kanata North neighbourhood of Ottawa, Ontario, recognized as the most ecologically valuable and biodiverse urban green space in the City of Ottawa. Resting on ancient Canadian Shield uplands more than a billion years old, the forest is rich in wetlands, rocky outcrops, and mature woodlands supporting over 654 species, including 18 species at risk. Wildlife found here includes white-tailed deer, black bears, beavers, porcupines, Blanding's turtles, great blue herons, and a diverse array of songbirds. The area features a 15-kilometre network of trails maintained by the Ottawa Mountain Bike Association, offering hiking, mountain biking, and wildlife observation for visitors of all ability levels.
