Biodôme de Montréal is a world-renowned nature museum housed in the former velodrome built for the 1976 Montréal Summer Olympic Games, located in Montréal, Quebec, and part of the Espace pour la vie natural sciences complex. The Biodôme recreates five distinct ecosystems of the Americas under one roof, home to over 2,500 animals representing approximately 150 species and some 800 plant species. Visitors can journey through a lush Tropical Rainforest teeming with capybaras, emperor tamarins, macaws, and tropical fish; a seasonal Laurentian Maple Forest; the salt-water-filled Gulf of St. Lawrence; the dramatic Labrador Coast with murres and puffins; and the frigid Sub-Antarctic Islands inhabited by penguins. Permanent exhibitions explore biodiversity and conservation, while the facility's immersive environments offer an extraordinary and educational wildlife encounter suitable for all ages in the heart of Montréal.
