Petty Harbour Mini Aquarium is a beloved seasonal attraction located in a converted fish processing plant about 15 minutes south of St. John's, Newfoundland. The aquarium features 25 touch tanks and exhibit displays showcasing local marine species collected directly from the surrounding Atlantic waters. Staff and interpreters offer engaging, hands-on learning experiences, and the facility also hosts an immersive Undersea Explorer VR experience with 360-degree ocean footage and a motion-platform. A hallmark of the Mini Aquarium is its environmentally responsible catch-and-release model, through which all animals are returned to the ocean at the end of each season. Programming includes birthday parties, overnight sleepovers, and school outreach visits. Families enjoy the welcoming atmosphere, accessible parking, and a genuine connection to Newfoundland's coastal marine heritage.
