The San Diego Animal Sanctuary and Farm, operated by the Children's Nature Retreat Foundation, is a 20-acre nonprofit sanctuary nestled among majestic oak trees in Alpine, California, approximately 40 minutes east of San Diego. The sanctuary provides a forever home to nearly 200 rescued animals representing a rich variety of species, including zebras, horses, cows, sheep, llamas, alpacas, goats, tortoises, ostriches, birds, reptiles, and bunnies. Open to the public seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the facility welcomes families and visitors of all ages to connect with animals and the natural world through guided exploration of the sprawling, scenic grounds.
