Gumbo Limbo Nature Center is a 20-acre coastal nature preserve and environmental education facility located on a barrier island in Boca Raton, Florida. Operated in partnership with Florida Atlantic University, the center features a boardwalk winding through a rare tropical hardwood hammock, a 40-foot observation tower, and a butterfly garden. Outdoor marine aquariums display native fish and resident sea turtles, alongside a marine science research gallery. The center is especially well known for its sea turtle conservation programs, including guided nighttime turtle walks during nesting season, hatchling releases, and stranding response efforts. Educational programming for families, school groups, and researchers makes it a welcoming destination for visitors of all ages interested in Florida coastal wildlife and environmental stewardship.
