Bergen County Zoo, located within the beautiful Van Saun Park in Paramus, New Jersey, is a 18-acre New World zoo featuring over 600 animals representing wildlife native to North, Central, and South America. Exhibits include a Great Plains habitat, a walk-through aviary, an 1860s farmyard, and an amphitheater hosting live animal presentations. Visitors encounter mountain lions, American bison, spider monkeys, tamarins, prairie dogs, American elk, alligators, capybaras, and a vibrant collection of birds and reptiles. The Education and Discovery Center provides hands-on learning opportunities and wildlife films for younger guests, while pony rides are available from April through October.
