Gibbon Conservation Center is a dedicated wildlife conservation and education facility located near Santa Clarita, California, and the only institution in the world to house and breed all four genera of gibbons. Founded in 1976, the center is home to 38 gibbons representing five species, including the critically endangered northern white-cheeked gibbon, making it the most varied collection of gibbons in the Western Hemisphere. The center's mission centers on promoting the conservation, study, and care of gibbons through public education, non-invasive research, and participation in Species Survival Plans. Visitors are welcomed on guided tours every Saturday and Sunday at 10 a.m., offering a rare and intimate opportunity to observe and learn about these remarkable primates and the global efforts to protect them.
