Tupelo Buffalo Park and Zoo is Mississippi's largest zoo, sprawling across 210 acres in Tupelo and home to more than 260 animals from around the world. Founded in 2001, the park is perhaps best known for its large herd of American bison roaming expansive open fields, which visitors can observe and interact with up close during the signature Buffalo Safari Tour aboard an open-air vehicle. Beyond the bison, the park features giraffes, zebras, camels, kangaroos, lions, tigers, lemurs, and a wide variety of reptiles and birds, making it a truly diverse zoological destination. A petting zoo with goats, ponies, and rabbits offers hands-on fun for younger guests.
