ABQ BioPark Zoo

ABQ BioPark Zoo is a 64-acre zoological facility located along the Rio Grande in Albuquerque, New Mexico, welcoming guests since 1927 and home to over 250 exotic and native animal species from around the world. The zoo features impressive exhibits including an Africa area, an Australia area, a Cat Walk, and a herpetology section. A standout penguin exhibit houses gentoo, macaroni, and king penguins and is the first of its kind in the Southwest. Other highlights include western lowland gorillas, siamangs, Malayan tigers, snow leopards, Sumatran orangutans, reticulated giraffes, African elephants, Mexican wolves, Komodo dragons, and critically endangered birds such as the Guam kingfisher and Bali myna. Part of the broader ABQ BioPark system, the zoo provides free parking and offers families a full day of wildlife discovery in the heart of New Mexico's largest city.
