Alexandra Park Zoo is one of Queensland's oldest zoological facilities, established in 1911 and located in the heart of Bundaberg West. Affectionately known as the "Monkey Park" in reference to its long history of popular primate exhibits, the zoo today is home to a fascinating collection of native animals and birds including cotton-top tamarins, dingoes, spotted-tailed quolls, swamp and parma wallabies, emus, red-tailed black cockatoos, eclectus parrots, coastal carpet pythons, and a variety of lizards and turtles. A highlight for many visitors is the daily dingo walk, which often includes opportunities for close interaction. Entry to the zoo is free, making it an accessible and enjoyable outing for families. Open most days of the week, Alexandra Park Zoo is a treasured community attraction in the Bundaberg region.
