Amarillo Zoo

Amarillo Zoo is an AZA-accredited zoological park and sanctuary in Amarillo, Texas, located in the heart of the Texas Panhandle and spanning approximately 15 acres. The zoo is home to over 120 animals representing 70 species, including Bengal tigers, bison, kangaroos, spider monkeys, black bears, scarlet macaws, barn owls, Chilean flamingos, and a herpetarium housing Burmese pythons, American alligators, and Galapagos tortoises. Daily keeper talks and feeding demonstrations provide visitors with engaging insights into animal behavior and conservation. The zoo participates in the AZA's Species Survival Plan, actively contributing to the preservation of endangered species and biodiversity.
