Amazon World Zoo Park is the Isle of Wight's largest exotic animal attraction, located in Newchurch on the outskirts of Sandown. Now operating as a charitable organisation under the name Amazon Rainforest Conservation Centre, the park is centred on the incredible biodiversity of the Amazon rainforest and houses over 200 species of animals and birds. Visitors can walk through an immersive all-weather recreation of the rainforest environment, encountering giant anteaters, ocelots, armadillos, sloths, capybaras, tapirs, toucans, marmosets, flamingos, otters, and many more remarkable creatures. Crocodiles watch from pond habitats while colourful rare birds fly freely overhead. On-site amenities include the Monkey Madness soft play centre with three levels of fun for children and a spacious café. As a member of BIAZA and EAZA, the park upholds rigorous standards of animal welfare and participates in important conservation programmes, making Amazon World Zoo a memorable and educational destination for all the family.
