AquaZoo Leerdam

AquaZoo Leerdam is a compact yet captivating aquatic zoo located in Leerdam, Netherlands, featuring more than 40 exhibits spanning freshwater and saltwater environments. Visitors encounter an impressive diversity of aquatic life including sharks, piranhas, seahorses, starfish, colorful anemones, and corals, as well as a paludarium showcasing exotic plants, frogs, and day geckos. A unique shark nursery allows guests to observe eggs hatching in protected tanks. Spanning 400 square meters and operated by volunteers from the aquarium association De Discus, the zoo offers a tranquil and educational atmosphere. The facility is fully accessible for wheelchair users, welcomes dogs on leashes, and extends opening hours during school holidays, making it a rewarding family-friendly destination in the heart of the Alblasserwaard region.
