AQWA The Aquarium Of Western Australia

AQWA, the Aquarium of Western Australia, is located at Hillarys Boat Harbour approximately 20 kilometres north-west of Perth and is home to over 400 species of marine life across more than 45 unique displays, all dedicated exclusively to the native marine life of Western Australia's 12,000-kilometre coastline. The aquarium is themed as an immersive underwater journey along WA's coast, with distinct zones including the Great Southern, Shipwreck Coast, Perth Coast, and Far North. Australia's largest single aquarium and underwater tunnel forms the centrepiece of the Shipwreck Coast exhibit, which holds three million litres of water and is home to sandbar sharks, eagle rays, and diverse reef fish. One of the world's largest living coral reef exhibits showcases stunning corals and reef fish from Rottnest Island. Featured animals include rare leafy and weedy seadragons, moon jellyfish, saltwater crocodiles, octopus, cuttlefish, and rescued sea turtles. A major $13 million expansion, due for completion in 2027, will add new exhibits, a cinema, and expanded conservation facilities.
