Avilon Zoo

Avilon Zoo is the Philippines' largest zoological institution by land area and animal collection, covering 7.5 hectares in Rodriguez, Rizal, just outside Metro Manila. The facility houses more than 3,000 specimens from over 600 species of birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, freshwater fish, and invertebrates, with a particular emphasis on Philippine native fauna, much of which has been bred successfully in captivity through the zoo's active ex situ conservation programs. Visitors can discover saltwater crocodiles, sun bears, giraffes, hippos, tigers, monkeys, Philippine Falconets, white civet cats, and countless other species, while enjoying guided tours, educational field trips, snake-handling experiences, and animal feeding encounters. Avilon Zoo is also home to a significant collection of endemic Philippine flora, with more than half of its plant species native to the country. As a leader in conservation and wildlife education, it remains one of the most comprehensive and rewarding wildlife destinations in the Philippines.
