
Ballarat Wildlife Park is a family-owned and operated zoo set in a relaxed bushland environment near the historic Sovereign Hill precinct in Ballarat East, Victoria. The park is home to over 100 free-roaming kangaroos that visitors can hand-feed, more than 35 koalas, wombats, emus, and a colony of little penguins. Exotic species including tigers housed in a state-of-the-art sanctuary, crocodiles, meerkats, reptiles, and a variety of birds add further variety to the experience. Daily animal presentations and hands-on animal encounters, complete with professional photos, are popular with guests of all ages. A fully licensed cafe and picnic areas round out the facilities. The park has earned recognition for animal welfare and tourism excellence, taking home the 2024 Silver Victorian Tourism Award for Best Major Attraction.
