Belgrade Zoo

Belgrade Zoo, known affectionately as Vrt Dobre Nade (Garden of Good Hope), is Serbia's oldest and largest zoological garden, established in 1936 and situated within the historic Belgrade Fortress at Mali Kalemegdan. The zoo is home to more than 1,000 animals representing over 200 species, including white lions, Asian elephants, giraffes, lemurs, and a dazzling variety of parrots and other birds. Set amid lush greenery with a stunning fortress backdrop, the zoo attracts over 400,000 visitors each year and offers interactive animal encounters, educational programmes, and virtual tour options. Open daily from 9 AM to 8 PM, it provides a memorable and family-friendly experience at the heart of the Serbian capital.
