Birdland Park and Gardens is a nine-acre bird sanctuary set alongside the River Windrush in Bourton-on-the-Water, Gloucestershire. The park is home to over 500 birds across more than 130 species, including England's only breeding group of king penguins as well as Humboldt penguins, Caribbean flamingos, pelicans, cassowaries, and the critically endangered waldrapp ibis. Themed zones such as the Parliament of Owls, Pandemonium of Parrots, and Jurassic Journey — featuring life-sized dinosaur models — add variety and excitement for younger visitors. Interactive penguin feeding sessions and bird adoption programmes deepen the connection between visitors and the animals. As a member of EAZA, Birdland is committed to conservation and education, making it a wonderful family destination in the heart of the Cotswolds.
