Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary

Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary is Tasmania's most popular wildlife park, located on a 9.7-hectare property in Brighton, just north of Hobart. Established in 1981, it is home to approximately 200 animals from 25 species, including eastern grey kangaroos, Tasmanian devils, wombats, sugar gliders, eastern quolls, echidnas, eastern bettongs, tawny frogmouths, and sulphur-crested cockatoos. Bonorong operates Tasmania's largest 24/7 Wildlife Rescue Service, funded entirely by visitor entry fees, and in 2018 opened Tasmania's first veterinary hospital dedicated exclusively to wildlife. The sanctuary is deeply committed to conservation through breeding programs, research, and community education, connecting visitors with wildlife to inspire direct action for the natural world.
