Bristol Zoo Project

Bristol Zoo Project, formerly known as Wild Place Project and operated by Bristol Zoological Society in South Gloucestershire, is a conservation wildlife park that reimagines the zoo experience around distinct global ecosystems. Key areas include Discover Madagascar, where visitors can walk among five species of lemur and pygmy goats in a Madagascan village setting; Benoue National Park, offering a sweeping African grassland encounter with zebras, giraffes, red river hogs, and eland; and the Central African Forest, home to western lowland gorillas, okapis, and mandrills. Developed following the closure of the original Bristol Zoo Gardens in Clifton in 2022, Bristol Zoo Project combines immersive wildlife experiences with a world-class conservation breeding centre and educational programming for thousands of schoolchildren each year.
