Buffelsfontein Game and Nature Reserve is a 1,600-hectare family-owned wildlife destination set in the heart of South Africa's West Coast, approximately one hour from Cape Town in the Western Cape. The reserve is home to four of Africa's Big 5 — lion, buffalo, rhino, and leopard — as well as cheetah, giraffe, zebra, eland, oryx, blue wildebeest, red hartebeest, kudu, bontebok, springbok, and a rich variety of bird species. Guided game drives depart twice daily and are available in both full (approximately three hours) and half (approximately 90 minutes) formats, with knowledgeable rangers sharing insights into animal behaviour and the surrounding ecosystem. Accommodation ranges from self-catering chalets to a comfortable lodge, and an on-site restaurant serves traditional South African cuisine in scenic surroundings, making Buffelsfontein a superb all-round family safari destination.
