Buurtboerderij Het Dierendok is a community farm and green urban oasis located in Amsterdam-Noord, tucked between the Tuindorp neighborhood and the historic NDSM wharf. Operated by care organization Cordaan, the farm is home to sheep, goats, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, ponies, pigs, cats, and fish, and serves as a welcoming public space where children can play outdoors, pet animals, and learn about farm life. The farm plays a dual social role: it functions as a day program for residents with intellectual disabilities, who participate in animal care and maintenance alongside dedicated supervisors, and as a beloved neighborhood meeting place for residents of western Amsterdam North. Its educational programs and open-door community atmosphere make it a meaningful and enriching destination for visitors of all backgrounds.
