Cabrillo Marine Aquarium

The Cabrillo Marine Aquarium is a beloved public aquarium located in San Pedro, California, that has inspired generations of visitors to appreciate the remarkable marine life of Southern California's coast since 1935. The aquarium is home to more than 200 species of native Southern California sea creatures, all displayed in exhibits designed to reflect their natural environments. The Susanne Lawrenz-Miller Exhibit Hall showcases five major coastal ecosystems: Sandy Beaches, Mudflats, Rocky Shores, Kelp Forests, and Open Ocean, featuring sharks, eels, octopuses, crabs, and many other local species. An interactive tide pool touch tank allows hands-on encounters with marine animals, while daily slide presentations, special events, and the Exploration Center further enrich each visit. Managed by the City of Los Angeles, the aquarium serves as a welcoming resource for families, school groups, and marine science enthusiasts throughout the greater Los Angeles area.
