Cercado dos Veados

Cercado dos Veados is a deer enclosure set within the Pinewood of Our Lady of Nazaré in Sítio, near Nazaré, Portugal. Created as a joint initiative of the Municipality of Nazaré and the Brotherhood of Our Lady of Nazaré, the reserve is home to a herd of red deer (Cervus elaphus), one of the largest deer species in Europe. The site carries strong cultural and historical significance, evoking the legendary miracle of the knight D. Fuas Roupinho and the apparition of Our Lady of Nazaré.
