Cherokee Trace Drive-Thru Safari is a 300-acre wildlife adventure park set in the piney woods of East Texas, 12 miles east of Jacksonville. Visitors travel at their own pace through rolling hills and open savannahs, observing and photographing more than two dozen exotic and endangered species roaming in open habitats that reflect their native environments. Animals including giraffes, zebras, camels, dromedaries, bison, water buffalo, longhorns, alligators, kangaroos, capybaras, llamas, and yaks approach vehicles throughout the drive, and guests can purchase specially formulated animal feed for close-up interactions. The park is open year-round and provides an accessible, self-guided experience that combines the excitement of a genuine safari with the ease of exploring from the comfort of your own car.
