Chestatee Wildlife Preserve and Zoo is an open-air wildlife attraction located at 469 Old Dahlonega Highway in Dahlonega, Georgia, dedicated to rescuing and providing forever homes to exotic and native animals. The preserve is home to over 100 animals, including zebras, camels, watusi cattle, bison, white bison, zedonks, and donkeys, many of which are accessible to visitors through feed chutes for up-close encounters. The facility welcomes guests daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and offers experiences including guided animal encounters, interactive feeding, field trips, and birthday party events. A founding mission of rescue and rehabilitation drives operations, as the preserve takes in animals that are orphaned, abused, illegally purchased, or otherwise in need of care. Its affordable admission and hands-on activities make it a popular family outing in the north Georgia foothills near the Blue Ridge Mountains.
