Cougar Mountain Zoo

Cougar Mountain Zoo is an 11-acre non-profit zoological park located in Issaquah, Washington, on the north slope of Cougar Mountain approximately 15 miles east of Seattle. Founded in 1972 and now managed by the Zoological Society of Washington, the zoo focuses primarily on endangered species and conservation through education. The collection features Bengal tigers, ring-tailed lemurs, timber wolves, reindeer, Siberian cranes, wallabies, macaws, cougars, and other threatened wildlife from around the world, all housed in thoughtfully designed habitats. Educational programs include school field trips and a Living Classroom initiative that brings conservation concepts to life for students and youth groups. Through close collaboration with international conservation organizations, Cougar Mountain Zoo plays an active role in the preservation of endangered species and wildlife awareness in the Pacific Northwest.
