Critter Lane Petting Zoo is a family-run animal attraction situated on 10 wide-open acres in Valles Mines, Missouri, within Jefferson County. Home to over 300 exotic and domestic animals, the zoo features an impressive roster including lemurs, sloths, spider monkeys, kangaroos, ostriches, camels, parrots, and the occasional white tiger. Visitors can interact directly with many of the residents, and additional experiences such as camel rides, horse rides, and tractor train rides are available for an extra fee. Recognized by the National Animal Welfare Association as an accredited facility, Critter Lane Petting Zoo is open Tuesday through Sunday and welcomes guests looking for a memorable, hands-on encounter with a wide variety of animals in a spacious, relaxed setting.
