The Crocodile Centre in St Lucia is a fascinating wildlife attraction managed by Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife at the Bhangazi Gate into the iSimangaliso Wetland Park in the uMkhanyakude District of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The centre is set in an area that hosts the largest breeding population of Nile crocodiles in South Africa, and features specimens ranging from newly hatched hatchlings to impressive adults exceeding four metres in length. Visitors can also view rare Dwarf and Slender-Snouted crocodiles from tropical Africa and American alligators, and the centre is one of only four facilities in South Africa permitted to keep Gaboon adders in captivity. Informative displays cover crocodile breeding, feeding, anatomy, ecology, and distribution, while guided tours run daily at 11:00 and 14:00. Saturday afternoon and Wednesday evening feeding demonstrations offer a dramatic highlight for visitors of all ages.
