Darling Downs Zoo

Darling Downs Zoo is a wildlife destination located in Pilton, approximately two hours west of Brisbane in Queensland's Darling Downs region. The zoo is home to a diverse range of animals including big cats such as Sumatran tigers and leopards, primates, crocodilians, birds, reptiles, and other mammals, with daily free keeper talks and a variety of paid animal encounters that often sell out in advance. A dedicated free-roaming native wildlife sanctuary on the property allows guests to experience Australian animals in a more natural setting, and seasonal experiences like the Zoofari Night Tour provide memorable after-dark wildlife adventures. The zoo's Species Preservation Foundation is a government-approved charity actively supporting endangered species conservation. Open daily from 9am to 4pm and closed only on Christmas Day, Darling Downs Zoo offers wildlife education and unforgettable encounters for the whole family.
