David Fleay Wildlife Park is a Queensland government-operated wildlife park situated in West Burleigh, Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast, just 15 minutes from Gold Coast Airport and about an hour from Brisbane. Named after pioneering naturalist David Fleay, the park focuses on Queensland native and threatened species, including koalas, kangaroos, platypus, cassowaries, tree kangaroos, bilbies, dingoes, bridled nailtail wallabies, and the rare fat-tailed dunnart. Visitors can stroll along peaceful boardwalks and wetland paths, watch the spectacular Fleays in Flight birds of prey show, and explore the Reptile House and Nocturnal House. The park is particularly notable as the only wildlife venue where guests can observe the bridled nailtail wallaby, a species once believed extinct.
