D.G. Khan Zoo

D.G. Khan Zoo is a public zoological park located near the Commissioner House in Dera Ghazi Khan, southern Punjab, Pakistan. Established between 1983 and 1985 under a provincial wildlife promotion scheme, the zoo covers 12 acres and is operated by the Forestry, Wildlife and Fisheries Department of Punjab. The zoo is home to over 312 animals across 31 species, including lions, olive baboons, rhesus monkeys, emus, demoiselle cranes, chukar partridges, white peafowl, common peafowl, grey partridges, and blue peafowl. A notable conservation highlight is the successful captive breeding of Balochistan black bears, marking significant achievements in regional species preservation. Open daily from 8 AM to sunset, D.G. Khan Zoo offers an accessible and educational wildlife experience for families and visitors throughout the region.
