Erie Zoo, formally the Erie Zoological Park and Botanical Garden of Northwestern Pennsylvania, is an AZA-accredited zoological attraction covering 15 acres in Glenwood Park, Erie, Pennsylvania. Home to more than 400 animals alongside a botanical garden and greenhouse featuring over 600 species of plants, the zoo offers a diverse experience for nature lovers and families. The collection includes African lions, Masai giraffes, Canada lynx, primates, reptiles, and birds, with the immersive African Safari exhibit providing environments that replicate native habitats. The zoo is active in conservation and breeding programs for endangered species and launched the innovative Last Chance Lagoon Program in 2023 to mitigate ecological damage in the Great Lakes Watershed by providing sanctuary for relinquished goldfish and koi. Erie Zoo welcomes more than 400,000 visitors annually.
