Fraser Coast Wildlife Sanctuary

Fraser Coast Wildlife Sanctuary is a not-for-profit, volunteer-operated wildlife attraction located approximately 30 minutes from Hervey Bay near Maryborough in Queensland, offering visitors an up-close experience with a wonderful range of Australian native animals including kangaroos, emus, cockatoos, dingoes, snakes, and lizards. The sanctuary supports injured and orphaned wildlife through partnerships with rescue organisations and is dedicated to conservation and animal welfare through community involvement, volunteering, and donations. Families are well catered for with picnic areas, BBQ facilities, and bus parking, making it a relaxed and welcoming destination for school groups and day-trippers exploring the Fraser Coast region. Open Wednesday through Sunday from 10am to 4pm, the sanctuary provides an affordable and meaningful wildlife encounter that directly supports the ongoing care and rehabilitation of local native species.
