Glittersjå Mountain Farm

Glittersjå Mountain Farm was a unique animal sanctuary and agritourism destination located on a restored remote mountain property in Sel, in the Gudbrandsdal valley of Norway. Founded by Hege and Helge Nordskar, the site was brought back to life from an abandoned farm beginning in 2006 and opened to visitors from 2011. The farm featured a moose within a five-hectare fenced natural habitat, alongside sheep, cattle, rabbits, geese, ponies, goats, and peacocks, all within a setting of traditional loghouses and stone walls. Visitors enjoyed close interaction with animals in a tranquil mountain environment emphasising natural behaviour and organic grazing. The farm has since permanently closed, with visitors now directed to Langedrag, a similar wildlife facility. Glittersjå Mountain Farm is remembered as a distinctive and intimate animal experience in the Norwegian highlands.
