Hanoi Zoo

Hanoi Zoo, also known as the Hanoi Zoological Gardens or Thu Le Park, is a beloved zoological park situated in the Ba Dinh District of Hanoi, Vietnam, approximately five kilometers from the Old Quarter. Established in 1975 and spanning more than 29 hectares including a scenic six-hectare lake, the zoo is home to nearly 600 animals representing 95 species. Visitors can encounter a remarkable range of wildlife including Indochinese tigers, clouded leopards, Hoa Mai leopards, elephants, lions, bears, and an array of primates and bird species. Forty species listed in Vietnam's Red Book of rare and endangered fauna are cared for across five distinct exhibition sections. The park holds significant historical importance and has received symbolic animal gifts from notable figures over the decades, making it both a conservation center and a cherished green destination in the heart of the capital.
