Heaton Park Animal Centre

Heaton Park Animal Centre is a free-to-enter animal centre set within the grounds of historic Heaton Park in Manchester. Housed in beautifully restored old stables, the centre is home to a wide variety of farmyard and more exotic animals, including chickens, goats, geese, pigs, turkeys, ducks, rabbits, alpacas, and a Sulcata tortoise. Out in the park, visitors can spot Highland cattle, shorthorn cattle, horses, and donkeys in the fields, and may even encounter a peacock wandering the Stables Courtyard. Open most of the year Thursday to Tuesday from 10am to 4pm, the centre has knowledgeable staff on hand and makes for an accessible, educational, and completely free family outing in one of Manchester's most beloved green spaces.
