Heythrop Zoological Gardens was a privately operated zoological collection and animal training centre near Chipping Norton in Oxfordshire, long regarded as housing one of the largest private collections of exotic animals in the United Kingdom. For nearly 50 years, the site offered exclusive animal encounter visits, keeper-for-a-day experiences, and limited open days, featuring species including tigers, lions, wolves, penguins, hippos, zebras, and primates. The gardens were closely associated with Amazing Animals, a professional animal training company supplying animals to the film and television industry. The combination of rare exotic species and behind-the-scenes access made it a distinctive destination for wildlife enthusiasts. The gardens closed in March 2026 following the retirement of the founding owner.
