Lyell Deer Sanctuary is a family-run animal rescue and wildlife sanctuary set in the Samford Valley in Mount Samson, approximately 30 minutes north of Brisbane in the Moreton Bay region of Queensland, Australia. The peaceful property is home to over 50 rescued animals, including red, fallow, rusa, and chital deer, as well as goats, cows, chickens, guinea pigs, peacocks, and cats. Rather than a traditional zoo, the sanctuary places emphasis on rescue and rehabilitation, particularly for feral deer, and welcomes visitors on weekends from 10 AM to 4 PM. Guests can hand-feed, cuddle, and interact with the resident animals in a tranquil rural environment, and admissions directly support the ongoing care and rescue operations. Lyell Deer Sanctuary offers a meaningful and educational wildlife encounter for families and animal lovers.
