Marakele Animal Sanctuary is a wildlife sanctuary and accommodation retreat situated nine kilometres outside Thabazimbi in Limpopo's Waterberg region, South Africa, set against the dramatic backdrop of the Waterberg Mountains. Visitors can encounter a remarkable variety of animals including lions, leopards, rhinos, hyenas, monkeys, and birds, with the sanctuary's enclosed vehicle offering guests a safe yet intimate opportunity to enter predator enclosures and observe the big cats at very close range. Feeding sessions are held on Wednesdays and Sundays, and on-site braai facilities and a swimming pool add to the relaxed bush atmosphere. Safari tent accommodation with en-suite bathrooms allows guests to spend the night and fall asleep to the sounds of lions roaring and hyenas calling across the Waterberg landscape.
