MarineLand

MarineLand of Canada was a landmark marine zoological park and amusement attraction located in Niagara Falls, Ontario, that operated from 1961 until its closure in 2024. Founded by John Holer as a small marine exhibit, it grew over decades into a major destination featuring performing marine animal shows, exhibits of beluga whales, dolphins, sea lions, walruses, and orcas, along with land animals such as bears and deer, as well as a range of amusement rides. For generations, MarineLand was one of Niagara Falls' most recognized attractions, drawing visitors from across Canada and internationally. The park's later years were marked by public debate surrounding its marine mammal programs, and following the passing of its founding family, the facility closed. Its legacy reflects a significant chapter in Canadian marine wildlife exhibition history.
