Mokopane Biodiversity Conservation Centre is a South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) facility located on the northern outskirts of Mokopane in Limpopo Province, covering approximately 1,300 hectares. Established in 1979 and opened to the public in 1981, the centre combines a small zoo, captive breeding camps, and a free-ranging nature reserve, accommodating a wide variety of plant and animal species in diverse bushveld habitats. It forms part of the UNESCO-proclaimed Makapan's Valley World Heritage Site, adding significant cultural and palaeontological heritage value to the natural environment. Visitors can enjoy overnight stays in self-catering accommodation or camping on the grounds. The centre plays an important role in biodiversity research, captive breeding of threatened species, and public conservation education across southern Africa.
