Mount Kenya Wildlife Conservancy

Mount Kenya Wildlife Conservancy is a non-profit conservation organization located 10 kilometers from Nanyuki at the foot of Mount Kenya's UNESCO World Heritage forest in central Kenya. The conservancy is best known for its critically endangered Mountain Bongo breeding and rewilding program, which has achieved the remarkable milestone of breeding over 100 Mountain Bongo individuals, working to prevent this rare forest antelope from extinction. An Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre at the facility cares for orphaned, injured, and abused wild animals with the goal of releasing them back into the wild. Educational programs engage local communities in conservation awareness and sustainable resource management. Visitors can support the conservancy through donations, animal adoption, or volunteering, and the annual Trek for the Bongo hiking expedition to Mount Kenya's Lenana Peak offers an adventurous way to contribute to this important conservation mission.
