New Mexico Wildlife Center

New Mexico Wildlife Center is a nonprofit wildlife rehabilitation facility located in Espanola, New Mexico, operating as a full wildlife hospital that admits between 800 and 1,000 wild animals each year for treatment and, whenever possible, release back into their natural habitats. The center is open to visitors Tuesday through Sunday from 9 AM to 4 PM, featuring self-guided tours of ambassador animals and daily Animal Encounter programs at 11:30 AM that highlight resident wildlife unable to return to the wild. The organization serves as a vital community educational resource, reaching more than 7,000 people annually through on-site and off-site programming and relying on more than 50 volunteers who contribute thousands of hours each year. The center also operates an emergency wildlife assistance line for the region. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, it depends on donations and community support to fulfill its conservation mission.
